Made with recycled advertising billboards.
Based on an ethical and ecological concept.
These recycled change purses are handmade by groups of disadvantaged women. Most of them are widows, or have been deserted by their husbands. A South Indian social organization provides skills training and then purchase these handcrafted items at the highest rate possible, sometimes twice the local market price. All the profits are used to support various social programs such as the schooling of children, micro credit, and sponsorship.
There is a main section for cards and bills and a zippered section for coins. The lining is made from Kalamkari (fabric that is hand painted with organic vegetable dyes)
